Here’s a little display of the many colors and textures in the rocky riverbeds and temperate rainforest leading up to the glaciers. I couldn’t stop taking photos of the beautiful quartz intrusions in the wet granite, or the bright lichens peeking out of crannies.
I love textures and colors, too . . . and I really enjoyed enlarging your individual pictures, and then “zooming in” even more to see the tiny detail. Thanks for taking the photos, and for posting them for us to all enjoy the natural beauty, and wonder! If we would only take the time to stop (and even stoop) to look, and to appreciate it all!! I also love looking at the bark of old, old, trees, and the shapes and texture of leaves and ferns, and fronds, and pinecones . . and the amazing variety of colors all around us . . . and, again, if only we would just STOP, to LOOK, and to really SEE . . . and be awed by it all!! Thank you!!!

Thanks for the comments Carol!
I love this. Those pictures are so evocative, as are all your posts.
Thanks Kendra! I’ll be in the NYC area a bit this fall on the Clearwater. Hope we can meet up!
